2 July 2014

Mr Chander Khera, ACT Member of the Australian Council for Human Rights Education Executive, attended the meeting organised by DFAT with interested civil society organisations to discuss the issues that may be raised by the Australian delegation during the eleventh Australia-Vietnam Human Rights Dialogue, which we expect to be held in Vietnam in July 2014.
Due to prior commitments, Dr Ozdowski was not able to accept an invitation from Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to attend AICHR Regional Workshop on the “Reporting obligations: sharing experience and best practices” that was held on 3-4 July 2014 in Hanoi, Viet Nam. Attached is Adopted Revised Concept Paper (for the workshop) for your info.
Vietnam’s continuing international engagement on HR is demonstrated by Vietnam being a member of the UN Human Rights Council, its work towards the development and establishment of Human Rights Commission and signing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (yet to be ratified).
