June to September 2021. Ban School Online Education Seminars

Ban School is a series of participatory online sessions for those in Australia and the Pacific who want to dive deeper into the movement for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. It will consist of 5 three-weekly 90-minute evening sessions over zoom with a variety of speakers and facilitators. Each session will include time to discuss or conduct activities in smaller groups. The target audience is ICAN supporters and those in our extended networks who want to increase their knowledge or activity, as well as the new and curious, for example, international relations or politics students.

The first two webinars are scheduled for:

Monday 28 June: All about the ban. History and motivation for the campaign, breaking down the TPNW, the Pacific’s role in the treaty, detail on the positive obligations.

Monday 19 July: Resistance is forever. Stories of resistance in the Pacific and Australia to nuclear weapons, especially by First Nations people.
