ACHRE Citizen of Humanity Project—South Australia

Report by Vincenzo Andrea, ACHRE Vice President

Throughout the year the main educational focus was on raising awareness and promoting an understanding of human rights in the school and tertiary contexts. The two main activities were the following:

  • Promotion of Human Rights in school settings

Establishment of a school-based student management committee to  promote an awareness and deeper understanding of human rights as they relate to the diverse communities and students in South Australia ( Indigenous, Disability, Girls and gender diversity). To do this a power point was created by the student body and then shared within the school through Year assemblies and Home Group activities.

A copy of the power-point used to promote the aims and work of the student body is posted on the ACHRE Website
